Reduced to the essentials, the Ergon GXR does exactly what cross-country riders and lightweight racers want: It absorbs all shocks, is easy to grip, weighs little, fits ergonomically in the hand and provides safety. The GXR is the first truly ergonomic lightweight grip made of AirCell rubber, manufactured using a unique process. Super light, without clamping, without an inner core, 100% made in Germany - with the GXR, Ergon is defining a new chapter in MTB grips.
In addition to the ergonomic design, an outstanding grip on the MTB handlebar also includes surface textures for the highest demands in difficult terrain. The surfaces of the GXR are adapted to the different functional areas of the hand. This means that the GXR still fits perfectly in the hand even when things get really tough in cross-country riding.
For extremely technical track features, 100 percent grip on the handlebars is essential. The GXR therefore has a particularly grippy, reinforced zone in the lower area, exactly where the fingertips need to grip firmly.
Courses and routes are becoming more and more demanding in performance MTB use. There is also a trend towards down-country - towards light full suspension bikes that are driven ambitiously. However, bikes with a focus on lightweight construction in particular usually do not offer the optimum in terms of ergonomics and control. This is where the Ergon GXR becomes a game changer in the mountain bike cockpit: It is ergonomically well-developed, available in two sizes, reduces discomfort and offers the necessary grip to control the bike in every situation.
Without an inner core and clamp, we managed to reduce the weight to 90 grams (size small, including end plugs). If you want to trim your cross-country bike into a lightweight rocket and still don't want to give up grip, control and ergonomics, you can't go past the Ergon grip.
The GXR is the first to combine lightweight construction and real ergonomics in an MTB grip. In a completely new production process, Ergon AirCell rubber is formed into a grip that is ergonomically adapted to the hand and specifically to mountain bike use. Thanks to countless micro air bubbles, the high-quality and unique AirCell rubber has very high damping directly via the material, is super light, soft and TÜV-tested for harmful substances. In contrast to the GXR, conventional foamed lightweight grips are pressed in strands. This process significantly limits the design. Ergonomic shaping is just as impossible in this way as coordinated surface zones for the functional areas of the hand. This shortcoming leads to earlier fatigue and poorer bike handling. With the ergonomic GXR, on the other hand, you have your lightweight bike under control at all times.
The Ergon GXR comes entirely from Germany. From development to materials to production – the entire manufacturing process is 100% made in Germany. We have created a unique manufacturing process in Germany with expanded, TÜV-certified Ergon rubber granulate especially for the new cross-country grip.
