The SF Men is perfect for a sporty and comfortable sitting position on fitness bikes. The shape of the high-quality padded saddle supports the slightly inclined posture of your upper body. This means that the pressure is optimally directed to the sit bones, relieving the sensitive perineal area. In addition, with the aesthetically designed SF Men you not only increase your performance, but also visually enhance your bike with this eye-catcher.
The very deep relief channel, which is lowered towards the back, opens into an opening. This design combines all the advantages of a perforated saddle without its possible disadvantages (very stiff saddle shell) and optimally relieves the perineal region, which is particularly sensitive in men. Too much pressure in this area often leads to discomfort and numbness.
The padding is made of orthopedic foam, which we have designed to be particularly ergonomic for the fitness bike, but still extremely durable. This means that the pressure is distributed much better - so that you always feel comfortable, even without cycling shorts, even on longer tours. The saddle is covered with robust microfiber.
The Ergon development team has conducted intensive research into men's health. The main cause of discomfort when cycling is the saddle. In men, high pressure on the extremely sensitive perineal area leads to numbness, among other things. The testicles and penis, on the other hand, rarely cause discomfort because they can avoid the pressure from the seat. The SF Men relieves the male perineum ideally: Using MRI and CT analyses, many prototypes and test riders, we have ergonomically tailored the saddle to the anatomy and needs of men.
The shape and size of the seat of a saddle must match the distance between the rider's sit bones to avoid discomfort. This is why Ergon offers the SF Men in two sizes. Since the pelvic bones taper forward in a V-shape, the saddle should always offer enough support for the sit bones in different sitting positions. The saddle widths are selected so that the usable surface corresponds to the distance between the sit bones and optimally distributes the pressure. The more bent over a rider sits, the further forward the sit bones touch the saddle.
The male pelvis is less flexible than that of women. This means that men sit more upright on the saddle and place greater strain on their sit bones. The transition area between the rear of the saddle and the nose of the saddle can therefore be kept narrow (Y-shape). This gives the legs more room to pedal.
